International Alliance of Specialty Fashion Retailers hosts the MFW Buyers Salon
The International Alliance of Specialty Fashion Retailers (IASFR) has partnered with the Council of International Fashion Designers (CIFD) to launch the first official Buyers Salon at Miami Fashion Week® 2009.
Miami Fashion Week®, the largest Latin American and international fashion event in the US will present the latest Spring preview of over 60 of the most exciting emerging and established designers from throughout North, South and Central America including Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean as well as international designers from Spain, Italy, South Africa, Australia, U.A.E., Pakistan, Eastern Eruope and India to name just a few. Categories include women's evening wear and prêt-a-porter, swimwear, men's wear, jewelry and accessories. A complete list of participating designers will be available in February 2009.
Miami Fashion Week® celebrates its 11th year presenting these runway collections to over 500 international media and buyers from throughout the world. The event will take place at the SOHO Studios, 2136 NW 1st Avenue in Miami's trendy Wynwood Art District. The Buyers Salon will be in the 2nd floor Parliment at SOHO and will be open March 20, 21 and 22, 2009 from 12:00am - 4:00pm.

Buyers receive complimentary admission to the press shows, priority seating, trend and international business seminars, a private buyers reception, meetings with the designers, hotel discounts, 20% discount on flights with COPA Airlines, discounts on Avis car rentals, VIP special event invitations and more! Activities include a trends and retail seminar presented by The Global Purchasing Group, as well as a business seminar hosted by Citibank and moderated by the President of the World Trade Center Miami on today's global fashion industry including topics on new international trade laws and licensing by the world's largest apparel law firm Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., plus a host of other industry professionals. The seminars will be held March 17th and 18th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm prior to the start of the shows.
All shows take place in the evening from 7:00pm - 10:00pm, while the days are filled with designer meetings, reviewing collections or you can shop ‘til you drop or just relax on one of the world's finest beaches. Afterglow parties are held each night at Miami's hottest nightclubs, restaurants, hotels and lounges.
